Serving Vienna

Water Damage in Vienna: A Town With Four Streams

Vienna drains in two directions. According to the Town, rain that falls on the northern and eastern sides enters Piney Branch or Wolftrap Creek, which flow into Difficult Run. Rain on the southwestern side enters Bear Branch or Hunters Branch, which flow into Accotink Creek.

When a lot of rain arrives at once, some of it ends up in basements. In June 2006 the Town's director of public works told Connection Newspapers that Vienna had seen about nine inches of rain in a week, roughly three times the area's average for the whole month, and that he had heard of several residential basements flooding. Wolftrap Creek flooded where it runs under Echols Street and under Follin Lane.

The Town is still working on it. In February 2026, FFXnow reported that Vienna had begun replacing an undersized culvert along Nutley Street near Marshall Road SW that was installed in 1962. The $1.6 million project is projected to be finished by January 2027.

Not every water problem comes from the sky. A supply line, a water heater or a washing machine hose can do as much damage on a dry day. The EPA advises drying wet materials within 24 to 48 hours, which is why we tell people to call first and fill out forms later!

Who Do I Call for a Water Main Break or Sewer Backup in Vienna?

Is the Estimate Free?

Yes! Water damage estimates are free!

The Carpet Feels Dry. Are We Done?

Maybe not. What is under and behind the surface can hold water longer. We check that it's dry before things are closed up.

Your Questions

Water Damage Restoration Questions, Answered

How Fast Does This Need to Happen?

Quickly. The EPA recommends drying water-damaged areas within 24–48 hours to prevent mold growth.

Will Insurance Cover It?

Coverage depends on your policy and what caused the damage. We can bill your insurance company directly and help you understand the process.

Should I Call My Insurance Company or You First?

Call us to stop further damage, and call your insurance company to open a claim. Doing both early helps.

Can We Stay in the House?

Usually, yes. We'll talk through what makes sense based on where the water went.

Will You Have to Tear Out Walls or Floors?

Only what can't be dried or saved. We'll explain what needs to go and why before anything is removed.

How Will I Know It's Really Dry?

Dry to the touch isn't the same as dry inside the structure. We confirm the structure itself is dry — not just the surface — before anything is closed up, and we keep you informed along the way.
