A Mold or Water Damage Inspection for Reston Homes
Reston's first residents moved in during 1964, and Lake Anne Village Center opened the next year. The National Register listing for Lake Anne dates the district to 1963 through 1967. So Reston's earliest homes are now about 60 years old, and the villages that followed, Hunters Woods, South Lakes and North Point, fill in the decades after.
Even Reston's landmarks show their age. In July 2024, FFXnow reported that restoration work had begun at Heron House, the 15-story condominium tower that opened at Lake Anne in 1966, and that the project was necessary due to water intrusion into owner units.
Most Reston homes share something with a neighbor: a wall, a roof, a parking court or a drainage swale. When a problem starts next door or in a common area, a careful inspection helps you understand what is yours to deal with.

Do You Inspect Townhomes and Condos?
Yes! We inspect the home you own, and it often helps to let your cluster or condo association know early.
Do I Need an Inspection If I Can See Mold?
Not necessarily. When the cause is known or tied to a specific event, and the area affected is clearly defined, testing may not be needed. Testing after remediation could, and often should, be performed. Testing is also advisable when something seems wrong with your environment and you want to quantify the risk or find where the problem is.
